What Qualifies as a Pension Under Resolution 5477
Not every form of retirement income qualifies as a "pension" for this visa category. The key distinction is that the income must originate from a recognized pension system — a government pension scheme, a defined-benefit pension plan, a disability pension, or a similar permanent lifetime income arrangement.

The EPS Prohibition: A Rule Most Applicants Don't Know
This is the rule that has caught hundreds of Pensioner visa holders off guard since Resolution 5477 came into force. Colombia's national health insurance system (EPS — Entidades Promotoras de Salud) is Colombia's contributory health system for workers and their economic dependents. Pensioner visa holders are explicitly prohibited from enrolling in EPS.
